Life at the Plant interactive quiz
Client: Norfolk Botanical Garden
Working with: The DallaVilla Design Group
Year: 2008
While working with the Norfolk Botanical Garden on a website refresh, they came to the creative team at The DallaVilla Design Group to help to develop some online interactive educational resources. We worked to highlight the growth and anatomy of plants through a series of multiple choice questions that were followed up with animations featuring anthropomorphized plant parts. Water and oxygen particles take an elevator from the roots to the leaves via the stem; a chef leaf combines water, carbon dioxide and sunlight to create food; petals are the air traffic controllers guiding pollinators to the stamen.
I designed, illustrated and colored all of the images and scenes. I even programmed the quiz functionality and animated the flow, transitions and characters in Adobe Flash (back when that was a thing).
